Safety

Safety is paramount at Sunny Brow Nursery School.

During the hours of 7:45-9:10am one gate will be open for pedestrian access to allow parents and children to walk up to school.  During the teaching hours access to the building and grounds can only be obtained by calling the school office on the intercom.  A member of staff will either deal with the query via the intercom, or if necessary come to the gate to escort a visitor in to school.  Our security system enables us to see the gate area.

Children have access to our extensive grounds with the appropriate staff ratio working outdoors with them during the teaching hours.

The gate will be opened again for pedestrian access at 11.55 to allow parents to collect their children.  It will remain open until 12:45.

All teaching and support staff are first aid trained and undergo refresher courses as necessary and off course under safeguarding training as required by law.

A priority is given during the first half term to teaching the children how to be risk aware and therefore they are able to navigate our challenging but exciting and provoking outdoor environment safely.
